José Padilla, legendarni DJ s Ibize, preminuo je u nedelju, a tužnu vest potvrdila je njegova porodica putem društvenih mreža.

Hola amigos . It is with great sadness that we bring you the news that José passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday night here on his beloved island of Ibiza. His family and friends would like to say thank you to everybody who sent donations and messages of support to help make his last few months easier, and to all the staff of Can Misses Hospital for taking care of him until the end. Now he has gone and the sunset in Ibiza will never be the same without him , but the beautiful music of Jose Padilla will stay with us forever. Su familia y amigos queremos dar las gracias a todo el mundo que apoyó con mensajes y donaciones para ayudar a hacer un poco más fáciles sus últimos meses, y a todo el stuff en el hospital Can Misses cuidando de él hasta el final. Ahora que se ha ido el sunset en Ibiza no volverá a ser igual sin el, pero la maravillosa música de José Padilla estará con nosotros para siempre. Adiós Maestro…

Padilla je ove godine otkrio kako mu je dijagnostifikovan rak debelog creva te je putem društvenih mreža i stranica za finansiranje prikupljao sredstva nužna za lečenje, ali i život uopšte.

José Padilla bio je španskii DJ i producent ambijentalne muzike, najpoznatiji po svom radu kao DJ-a u baru Café del Mar na Ibizi i muzičkim izdanjima istoga naziva koja su ga  proslavila.

Rođen je u Barseloni, a 1975. godine se preselio na Ibizu. 1991. godine postao je rezident DJ u Café del Maru. Prvi studijski album objavio je 1998. Imao je 64 godine. Na EXIT-u 2004. godine imao je svoj stejdž sa pogledom na Dunav nazvan baš po njemu “Café Del Bahia ft Jose Padilla sessions”.
